7. Sounds like Arizona is working to find Anthony Duclair a fresh start. At 22, have to think someone takes a shot.

I think Duclair would fit in nicely with the Leafs team. Wonder what it would cost?

I really hope they move him to Pitt in a deal that works for both sides. Pitt has recently been giving Hagelin top 6 minutes at 5v5 while Sheary plays (really well) on the 3rd line. The nice thing about bringing over Duke is that he could probably be had for futures alone, maybe we can even dump Hagelin off in the same deal then AZ could maybe retain salary and flip Hags

I’m in Clarington for Christmas with the in-laws, I thought I was going to get a break from the cold. It’s almost as cold here as in hometown Ottawa.

Just a heads up: Duclair has been one of the worst backcheckers in the Western Conference in the last season and a half. And he shows up offensively for about two shifts a game this season.

Lots of talent. Massively struggles with consistency and defensive accountability.

I know, but I think he's got a lot of potential, if given the chance.

Tough to say about giving him a chance. Even his last five games; he's getting around 14 minutes a night and had only one point and is -5 in that time.

I doubt Babs would let him step foot on the ice if he can't play a 200 foot game. He seems pretty adamant about that in interviews. Gotta say, you guys are pretty lucky to have that living legend Coaching the Leafs.

Duclair has to clear waivers to be sent down now though. Could end up a situation where your 13th forward spot is held hostage.

The Leafs currently are stuck playing Connor Brown on the fourth line. I don't see how picking up an other winger helps them at all.

Soshnikov is one of the only leafs who is capable defensively. I wouldn't make this trade and I love Duclair.

really? his numbers from last year are pretty meh.

anyways, i agree that toronto doesn't really make sense.

idk, maybe someone like vancouver or buffalo would flip a struggling young player for him.

I really liked Crouse coming up. Surprised he has struggled so much since being drafted. I'd still love to see the Pens take a chance on him for a pick or two.

To me, the biggest issue I've seen with Duke is that he has not had a true 1C or 2C to play with, because we do not have either really. When he, Domi and Hanzal were together their rookie year, I thought he did well enough and put up 20 goals. He always seems to play better with Domi, but they are too much of a liability on the D side. I think they would need have to have a Kessler type center who could save them...

Maybe we could get Pittsburgh involved, maybe getting a Dumoulin type player back. We don't need Hags, as he would just steal ice time that should go to Merkeley and Strome. I want to see Richardson, Reider and either Connauton or Schenn traded and Rinaldo released. No need having these types of players on a team that needs to give more ice time to their kids and see what they have

It was nice to see a win last night. I saw Matthews last season and sold my tickets for tonight's game for a modest profit. I am surprised the Toronto media hasn't started those OEL to Toronto rumors again, though it was nice to see LeBrun quoting Chayka about if he would trade OEL, "Nope, Never, Not Happening" While you never say never, he's the one guy they need to hold onto and back up of their modest Brinks truck to keep...

Clean hit...I would have punched the guy too...every other clean hit ends up with the hitter getting suckered/jumped.

1 game suspension. Connaughton not even aware he's coming.
